Client reporting allows advisors to password encrypt statements which are sent from the portal for data security purposes. Encryption can either be set at a Brokerage level or at an Individual Broker level within the Brokerage.

When enabled, Client reporting will apply the client’s ID number as the default password. Where the ID number is not provided, a random password will be generated for the statement.

There are 2 passwords that must be set on each PDF statement

  1. The unique password each one of your clients use to open their respective statement and;
  2. The advisor's password, a single password that the advisor can use to open any PDF statement.

This "How to page" will provide the steps to change passwords on individual statements. For bulk changes (10 portfolios or more) then contact support at support@seedanalytics.info.

Setting passwords on Statement PDF's

Step 1 - Turn on encryption

Log on to www.clientreporting.co.za with your Seed Analytics credentials. You will be directed to the below dashboard. On the top right-hand corner where your username is displayed, click on the profile tab to load the encryption page.

Step 2 - The Advisors password - Select the encryption option

Select the “Encrypt generated pdfs?” checkbox and select your password for the encryption, then click the “Save” button.

This is not the password that each client will use to open their individual statement. This is the advisor's password which the advisor can use to open any of their statements

Step 3 - Manage client encryption passwords

Select the statement search from the main menu

Step 4 - Select the "Manage Passwords" button

Select the manage passwords button on the right-hand side of the search field to navigate to the manage password page.

When clicking on this button, the following page will open displaying a list of all your clients and their passwords.

You can view the password in one of the following 3 ways:

    Clicking on the Eye icon next to the respective client;

    Clicking the “View all passwords” button or;

    Double-clicking on the actual password.

Step 5 - Amending passwords

You can amend the password in the same way you amend an email address or portfolio name, by double-clicking on the actual password and typing in a new one.  Once done click on the green check (tick) button.

If a password is changed at the start of a month before your statements are released the new password will only be applicable with that next statement release.  If it is done after the statement release, please send a request to support@seedanalytics.info to request the team to re-run your statement to activate the new password.

Helpful Tips and Important Information:

  • Best practice when amending the passwords is to follow using either the client’s ID number or the trust number where it is a trust;
  • Remember to inform your client that the statements have been encrypted and;
  • Do not include the actual password when sending out the email, just a hint, e.g “ Your statement has been encrypted with your ID Number”.
